This original multimedia performance is a story of balance. Two worlds, the land of Bwight and the land of Color, are thrown into chaos when two rebellious fairies try to leave behind the set ways of their cultures. Shadite flees war struck Bwight at the same moment Lighdow escapes her wing cutting ceremony and the land of Color. Their struggle to find something new destroys everything they know. As the only two survivors they find one another in the chaos. From thir joining a world of balance is brought into the light.
This is the first work created under the umbrella of The Penumbra Theatre Company. It is an experiment in performance cinema. We mix lights, actors, and costumes with video, sets, and soundscapes. Through the mystical adventures of our two main characters we were able to blend the reality of traditional theatre with the fantasy of technology and the use of live cinema.
